Global anthropogenic emissions are 32,082 million tons of CO2 per year1. If cities, responsible for 70% of global CO2 emissions2, under-estimate emissions by 20%, then 4,491 million tons of unaccounted for CO2 would be released every year. Real time emission measurement is the initiative that can give confidence to a post 2012 carbon market.
