Picarro’s isotopic water instruments have become the globally accepted standard for the analysis of water stable isotopes in surface, ground and rain water studies, oceanographic research and ice core data for paleoclimatology. They are also used increasingly in laboratories where stable isotopes can be used to track food adulteration and biochemical processes, such as medical research applications. Picarro’s optical systems are significantly cheaper to own and use, have a smaller footprint, and more reliable performance than the traditional mass analyzers.

Samples can be collected in the field in standard 2 mL vials and analyzed in a central laboratory, or the instrument can be deployed to field stations providing more powerful real-time data acquisition and decision-making capability. Additionally, water vapor samples and water derived from solid matrixes such as soil, leaves, or other organic matter can be easily introduced into the analyzer using our suite of peripherals.
